The Perfect Burger

No literally, meet the Perfect Burger.

This is the Perfect Burger by Dr. Praeger. Some quick facts:

  • 20g of protein

  • 230 Calories in one patty

  • Low sodium

  • No cholesterol

  • 8g of carbs

  • gluten free

  • soy free

  • non GMO

And here's the best part - you can actually read and understand the ingredients:

  • Hydrated Pea Protein Blend (Water, Pea Protein), Sunflower Oil, Beets, Natural Flavors, Sweet Potato Puree, Butternut Squash Puree, Carrot Puree, Methyl Cellulose, Oat Fiber, Fruit And Vegetable Juice (For Color), Sea Salt, Onion Powder

Some veggie burgers on the market are highly processed and not healthy as many vegans will argue - I still eat them but in moderation. The Perfect Burger is great when I'm craving something hearty, topped with my version of burger sauce. Without further adieu...

Ingredients

  • vegan whole wheat bun

  • vegan butter

  • 1 Perfect Burger

  • vegan mayo

  • diced onion

  • diced pickle

  • ketchup

  • celery salt

Let's Cook

  1. Heat up a pan over medium heat.

  2. Smear some vegan butter on your buns - the bread (unless you're into that sort of thing).

  3. Add them to your pan and toast those buns.

  4. Remove and set aside.

  5. Add a drizzle of oil to the pan if needed and add your burger patty.

  6. Once it's a nice golden color, flip and let the other side finish. This should only take a few minutes on either side.

  7. Remove from pan and put it on your bottom bun.

Kwispy.

Burger Sauce

  1. Dice a small bit of onion.

  2. Dice a bit of pickle (I do half of a dill spear).

  3. Add a squirt of ketchup, comparable to the amount of sauce you'll want on the burger.

  4. Add a bit of mayo (a little less than the amount of ketchup, but adjust as desired).

  5. Sprinkle some celery salt.

  6. Mix it up.

This is the start of something good.

Layer your sauce on your burger, add a crispy piece of romaine lettuce, and enjoy!
